Russian investigators are probing a incident involving an Antonov An-24 during which the nose-gear apparently collapsed during landing at Kirensk.
The aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, had been operating a service from Irkutsk on 26 May.
Its nose-gear strut “broke” and the aircraft “rolled off the runway” while landing, says the federal Investigative Committee’s eastern region transport division.
“There were no casualties among the crew or passengers,” it adds.
The An-24 is a Soviet-era regional aircraft. Images from the East Siberian transport prosecutor’s office identify the airframe involved as RA-46620.
No meteorological data is available for Kirensk airport at the time of the occurrence, 14:33, but images from the scene indicate good weather.
“Causes of the incident are being investigated,” says the prosecutor’s office, with an inspection of compliance with flight-safety legislation being undertaken.
