Norwegian pilot-training company OSM Aviation Academy is to acquire up to 30 Tecnam P-Mentor light aircraft for its cadet fleet.
The provisional agreement covers purchase of 25 aircraft plus options on another five.
OSM executive director Hans Kyrre Hultgren says the order is part of a strategy to “establish a strong presence in the USA” to support its flight-training operations.
Chief executive Martin Floor adds that the P-Mentor, with its IFR capabilities, is the “perfect aircraft” to train pilots through the academy’s “airline-ready” cadet programme.
Italian-based Tecnam says the P-Mentor is a two-seat trainer offering “unmatched efficiency” and “advanced avionics”.
“This collaboration reinforces our shared commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence in aviation education,” says chief sales officer Walter Da Costa.
OSM’s fleet includes Cessna 172 and Diamond Aircraft DA42 trainers.
