Polish flag-carrier LOT has shown off the interior configuration for its new Airbus A220s, which will begin entering the fleet in 2027.
The airline ordered 40 A220s – a mix of -100s and -300s – in June, to modernise its short-haul fleet.
LOT states that the A220-300s will have 149 seats while the -100s will have 125.
It will configure the twinjets in two classes, business and economy, with lightweight Recaro R2 seats manufactured by the company at its Polish plant in Swiebodzin.
LOT has revealed the interiors in mock-up designs. “The new cabins combine an efficient layout with modern technology to maximise both comfort and functionality,” the carrier states.
The airline plans to offer inflight wi-fi on the aircraft.
Director of product development and customer experience Izabela Leszczynska says the cabin “sets a new travel standard” at the carrier.
“These aircraft are designed with our passengers in mind,” she adds.
LOT’s A220 cabins will be consistent with those of its latest batch of Boeing 737 Max 8s, of which 13 are due to enter the airline’s fleet from the end of the year.
Chief executive Michal Fijol says the choice of Recaro seats was based on “comfort and quality”, adding: “The fact that they are manufactured in Poland is also significant.”
LOT is also intending to undertake “comprehensive retrofit” of its Boeing 787 cabins.
