Air Serbia has signed a two-year agreement for Air Baltic to operate Airbus A220-300s on its behalf in an expansion of an existing relationship between the carriers.
Two A220s will operate for Air Serbia in the coming winter season under an ACMI arrangement, potentially rising to four during the summer 2026 season, the Belgrade-based airline said on 17 October.
Air Serbia chief executive Jiri Marek suggests the arrangement will provide his carrier with an “important… reference point for future decisions regarding the composition of Air Serbia’s fleet”.
The two airlines were already codeshare partners.
A permanent feature of Air Baltic’s strategy is wet-leasing out some of its 50 A220s under long-term deals, including 19 that flew for Lufthansa Group airlines over the summer.
Air Serbia’s fleet currently features nine Airbus A319s, seven A320s, four A330s, 10 ATR 72-600 turboprops and six Embraer E-Jets, according to data from global aviation intelligence and advisory company IBA.
