Luxair is confident of commencing initial Embraer 195-E2 operations in January next year, in line with expectations when it ordered the regional type.
The Luxembourg-based carrier says the first of six aircraft on firm order is undergoing the “final stages” of production at Embraer’s assembly facility.
It will be delivered before the end of the year, the airline adds. Luxair expected a fourth-quarter 2025 delivery when it ordered up to nine of the type in 2023.
The airline retains options on three aircraft.
Luxair says the aircraft is “ideally suited” to its European route structure, and that the fleet modernisation is “securing the flexibility” to strengthen its network.
The airline’s updated scheme will feature on the E195-E2s.
Chief executive Gilles Feith says the aircraft will “mark a milestone” for Luxair, and made a “strong statement about our ambitions for the future”.
The airline originally ordered four of the type before increasing its firm commitment to six last year. It has previously indicated that they will be fitted with 136 seats in a single-class layout.
Luxair’s fleet renewal also includes introducing additional Boeing 737 Max jets including the Max 10.
